The balcony is producing lots of sweet tomatoes. It’s so rewarding to just pop outside and get a snack. I planted again my favorite small wild tomato. I never got its proper name, but it’s so small and tasty I’m thinking it might be a type of currant tomato.
Currant tomatoes are a whole different species of tomato, and go by the scientific name Solanum pimpinellifolium. They are closer to their wild ancestors, and apparently have higher levels of nutritious compounds. I am growing a yellow currant tomato and it’s a delicious taste explosion every time I eat them.
