Tomato choices

Black truffle and star plum were the new sorts I tried this year on the balcony. My “tradition” is to buy one as seedling, and plant one from seed from a tomato I ate and found especially yummy.

I also planted old favorites, the medium sized tigerella and a tiny teardrop-shaped wild tomato. They all seem to be growing well and enjoying the rain.

Update: the black truffle didn’t really deliver the “black” part, but the “truffle”? Oh, what a deliciously rich taste! I’m saving seeds for sure. The star plum tasted ok but didn’t develop the “star” shape unique to its mother fruit. I probably won’t save the seeds.
